Unpacking and Repacking a Shooting Machine
This article describes how to unpack or repack a camera from a shipping crate.
Unpack
Materials needed: Phillips screwdriver.
1. Go on site with a Phillips screwdriver, remove the cover of the box, the screws are on the side on the box.
2. Take out the shooting machine, take it from below under the plate.
3. Position the machine on the counter :
4. Remove the second light arm.
5. Once the new machine is correctly positioned, plug it in electrically, and connect it to the iMac via the USB-C cable.
Take a test shot of each eye (right/left).
Check that the shot is available and visible from the Sony viewer (EIDT) on iMac.
Repack
1. For packing machine to return :
- Replace the camera cover
- Put the mirror back inside, set whether Gallery needs it or not
- Tighten the screws to lock the device, it must not move
- Remove the light arms (present on the first model) so that the mirror does not rest on them and break them.
Position the mirror in the machine on the right side, from the shooting side.
2. Note the serial number of the machine (inner right plate from the shooting front, example: 2023-06-0157).
3. Place the shooting machine in the box.
4. Position the foam or bubble wrap to best support the machine.
5. Replace the cover and screw on.
6. Affix the machine number on the box.
7. Cross out the one from before and affix the new one.
